Practice Accountant – Australian Accounting Practice(Remote)

We are looking for an experienced Practice Accountant to join a growing Australian public accounting practice. This is a hands-on accounting role ideal for someone with strong Australian accounting experience who can independently manage client files and deliver accurate, timely work.You will manage a portfolio of Australian SME clients, handling bookkeeping, reconciliations, BAS/IAS, payroll, financial statements and income tax return preparation.Key ResponsibilitiesManage and maintain assigned Xero client files, including transaction coding and reconciliations.Prepare monthly/quarterly financial statements, P&L, Balance Sheets and supporting reconciliations.Prepare BAS, IAS and Australian income tax returns for Individuals, Sole Traders, Partnerships, Trusts and Companies.Process and review payroll, STP Phase 2, leave entitlements and superannuation.Monitor ATO compliance requirements and lodgement deadlines.Identify and resolve discrepancies, missing information and potential compliance issues.Communicate professionally with clients and the Australian team regarding queries and required documentation.Maintain high standards of accuracy, compliance and file quality.
