The ideal candidate has extensive experience delivering appealing customer focused designs with clarity and innovation. They have a passion for working with internal stakeholders, customers, and customer insights to gather potential improvements and a demonstrated ability to deliver designs with impact. As the Transportation Designer, you will be responsible for all vehicular product designs related to Yatri Motorcycles initiatives. You will be responsible for outlining a design system, creating and maintaining the design roadmap, managing and prioritizing the design backlog, representing the needs of the audience, anticipating the needs of the business, and establishing a friction-free customer journey to delight and engage prospects and owners. The Role - Understand brand values - Research and benchmark market trends and technologies Produce beautiful transportation designs - Colour, Material, Finish (CMF) understanding with strong knowledge of production and industrial processes - Work hands-on with the development team, participating in standups, advocating for design principles and delivering clear concepts, mock-ups, and detailed designs - Unwavering attention to design details like proportions, graphics and typography. Responsibilities - Collaborate with cross-functional team of engineering, manufacturing, purchasing and marketing to execute a concept design - Create digital automotive surfaces ranging from concept to 'Class-A' level digital model - Create CMF proposals and make sure the design inputs are implemented within the internal teams and engage in constant communication and feedback loop - Define the visual appearances and finishes of all the vehicles and their variants - Work with Mechanical, Electrical & Electronics and Powertrain engineers on sub-system packaging and interference study - Produce high quality photorealistic renderings - Translating concept and CAD data into small or full-scale high quality clay model is a super bonus! -- 1 of 2 -- Qualifications - A customer-first mindset - Bachelor or higher degree in Transportation/Industrial design or similar design degree - Transportation Designer 2 - 2+ years experience in digital prototyping and product development - Excellent knowledge and experience with a few of these platforms: Autodesk Alias, VRED, Inventor, Maya, CATIA, Solid Works, Blender, Keyshot - Mastery of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop) - An understanding of vehicle UI/UX design including that of mobile, instrument cluster and infotainment systems - A portfolio of completed projects (submit link with application) Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills Benefits - Health insurance with 100% premium covered Generous PTO / sick leave - PF plan with employer match - Free lunch and snacks - Annual company retreat - Bring your dog to work 🐶 - Work in a high-growth start up that will redefine urban mobility About Us Yatri was founded in 2017 to prove world-class electric vehicles can be designed, engineered and manufactured from the ground up in Nepal - that switching to electric does not have to be a compromise but better, quicker and kinder to the planet.
