Senior Database Administrator

Key Responsibilities Install, configure, maintain, upgrade, and manage MySQL, MariaDB, MongoDB, SQLite, and other database systems. Monitor database performance, availability, capacity, and overall health, proactively identifying and resolving potential issues. Perform database performance tuning, SQL query optimization, indexing, execution plan analysis, partitioning, and capacity planning. Design and manage database backup, recovery, disaster recovery (DR), and high availability (HA) solutions. Configure and maintain database replication, failover, and redundancy mechanisms. Implement and maintain database security practices, including user access management, permissions, encryption, patching, and security controls. Automate database administration and operational tasks using PowerShell, Bash, Shell scripting, or Python. Support production database environments and provide Level 3 technical support for critical database issues. Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for database incidents and implement preventive and corrective actions. Plan and execute database migrations, upgrades, version upgrades, and infrastructure changes with minimal service disruption. Collaborate with Development, Infrastructure, DevOps, Cloud, and Security teams to ensure reliable and scalable database operations. Maintain database documentation, operational procedures, backup policies, recovery plans, and technical standards. Participate in database capacity planning and contribute to the design of scalable database architectures. Ensure database environments comply with organizational security, availability, and performance requirements.
