The WHO Nepal Country Office directs and coordinates the authority for health by supporting the Nepal Government in the formulation, implementation and evaluation of national health policies, strategies and plans, setting norms and standards, improving knowledge dissemination and management, monitoring country health situation and building sustainable institutional capacity. VACANCY NOTICEWorld Health OrganizationInternship – Department of Health Determinants, Promotion and Prevention – (2603774)- Grade: No grade- Contractual Arrangement: Intern- Contract Duration (Years, Months, Days): 6 months- Closing Date : Sep 28, 2026,- Primary Location : Switzerland-Geneva- Organization : HQ/HPR Health Promotion HEP- Schedule : Full-time OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAMMEThe WHO Report on the Global Tobacco Epidemic (GTCR) is published every two years and for the last 18 years has successfully tracked the progress in tobacco control across all Member States. The next report, the eleventh in the series, will be published in 2027. The GTCR is one of WHO’s flagship publications and is supported by Bloomberg Philanthropies. FINANCIAL SUPPORTInterns do not receive a salary. They do however receive a living allowance. The amount of living allowance is different in each duty station. The amount also depends on any other external financial support received by the intern (grant, scholarships, etc.) and whether their permanent residence is in the duty station of the internship. In Geneva, for interns with permanent residence in the duty station, the maximum amount of the allowance provided by WHO is 739 CHF per month. For interns whose permanent residence is outside of the duty station, the maximum amount is 1680 CHF per month. The exact amount of the living allowance will be calculated for each intern, after selection, based on a legal financial disclosure form that the individual will complete. In addition, all interns in Geneva will receive daily lunch vouchers for meal expenses (20 CHF per working day).
